Looking For The Best Podcasts To Listen To? These Are My Top 5 Favorite Shows (Right Now)
Did you know there are over 4.5 MILLION podcasts in existence as of 2025?!
Four. Million.
That is a LOT of options to scroll through… Especially when you’re maxed out on making decisions for the day and just want something interesting to listen to on your way home from work!
There have been SO many times over the years I’ve thought to myself: I know there has to be some incredible information out there in this sea of podcasts… so, why is it so hard for me to find the right one?
I didn’t want to waste my time listening to something that didn’t apply to me (and I certainly didn’t need more noise). I just wanted someone to curate exactly what I needed to hear for whatever season of life or work I was in.
Like a friend personally telling me, “Ooo, listen to THIS one. It’s so good, and here’s why you’ll like it.”
One day, after searching for WAY too long trying to find one to listen to (and after a full day of working and mom-ing), I finally hit my limit and decided to solve this problem myself.
And that leads us here! To… The Ponni Perspective. A one-stop shop for all the best podcast recs and more.
So, as your personal podcast guide and friend, I’m here to make the podcast selection process much smoother for you by curating all the best shows and episodes in this one place.
Leave me a note with your thoughts, and I hope you enjoy these shows as much as I do! :)
Here are my top 5 favorites right now:
The Sales Evangelist by Donald C. Kelly
Why I Reach for It: This show gives amazing sales advice. I love listening to this one when I want to sharpen my skills but don’t want information overload. The episodes aren’t too drawn-out, and I love that there’s a mix of Donald’s own expertise along with real examples from interviews of industry experts. It’s an easy listen that still has a lot of meat to it.
Best for: Anyone in sales or looking to improve their skills. It’s great not only for SDRs, but also for founders, entrepreneurs, and business professionals.
When: I’m looking for advice that I can actually implement into my everyday process. Great for days when I need a reset on pipeline, mindset, or energy.
Overall Tone & Content: High-energy and encouraging. It’s got a “you can do this” tone without being cheesy. Though personally, how he says his name at the beginning of every
episode always cracks me up. Good way to break the ice. The episodes cover things like prospecting, cold outreach, objection handling, and building trust. And I love that there’s a mix of interviews with sales leaders and Donald’s own “from the trenches” solo episodes.
Not great for: If you’re looking for really high-level sales philosophy, this isn’t for you. I would consider those more thought-provoking versus this podcast gets you to make a change.
On the Market by Bigger Pockets (Hosted by Dave Meyer and a panel)
Why I Reach for It: This is my go-to when I want to understand what’s actually happening in real estate and the broader economy. It’s very data-driven, but still conversational, which makes it easy to digest complex topics. The panel is very witty and funny too, which is a plus!
Best for: Real estate investors and anyone interested in macroeconomics or general market trends.
When: I’m making decisions on what to do with my own real estate investments and need help making sense of the market as a whole. Helps me calibrate my own real estate and macro brain and stay grounded.
Overall Tone & Content: Analytical, yet approachable. Lots of variety on the panel, which keeps discussions engaging. The content varies from housing data, interest rates, and macro trends, to “what this means for individual investors”, news breakdowns, and market deep dives. It’s all given in a broader sense versus telling you what to do.
Not great for: If you want someone to tell you exactly what to buy or sell, this will not be it. The hosts give overall context surrounding the market but not specific instructions for you personally. They have to be generalists because they can’t predict the market or claim that they do.
Marketing Against the Grain by Kipp Bodnar & Kieran Flanagan
Why I Reach for It: This is one of my absolute favorite podcasts right now! It was a miracle that I found it when I did. It feels like you’re sitting in on two very senior marketing leaders thinking out loud about growth, go-to-market strategy, and how AI actually fits into real workflows.
Best for: Founders and marketers who want to stay sharp on what’s current. Especially those thinking seriously about growth, AI, and modern marketing strategy.
When: When I want to try new approaches. This is one I have to listen to once casually, then revisit later when I’m ready to follow along with their YouTube implementation, since they often walk through real examples on air.
Overall Tone & Content: Fast, opinionated, and a little spicy (in a good way!). They are SO funny and
not afraid to be themselves. They also acknowledge shortcomings and try to make it more approachable, but some stuff can definitely go over your head.
They’ll often do shorter segments where they riff, disagree, and push on each other’s ideas which keeps it dynamic. I think the two of them vibe really well, and they always make me smile during their episodes just based on how enthusiastic they are. I also have not found another better podcast on explaining how to use AI tools for marketing.
Topics they cover include growth, demand gen, product-led growth, brand, AI, and new channels. They really try to highlight what in traditional marketing is working, where AI fits, and where you still need humans.
Not great for: If you want something slow or surface level this may feel like too much. They also have “We don’t have this all figured out, but here’s how we’re thinking about it” energy, which feels super authentic, but if you’re looking for more facts only and no opinion, you may prefer something else.
Young and Profiting by Hala Taha
Why I Reach for It: This podcast feels like a blend of tactical business advice and mindset coaching. She interviews a lot of famous people that I already admire or want to learn more about. I just LOVE Hala! She is a normal person with amazing accomplishments who is super relatable. At first, her approach was a little off-putting until I realized that, as women, we are often taught that we shouldn’t brag or be proud of our accomplishments. She throws that all out the window, which is very inspiring.
Best for: Entrepreneurs and founders, especially other women looking for empowerment and business motivation.
When: I need both ambition fuel and substance on a variety of topics. Best to listen to while walking and driving because you mostly don’t need to follow along with specific steps.
Overall Tone & Content: High-energy, prepared, and direct. Often feels like a mini masterclass. The episodes are about content strategy, sales, positioning, personal branding, social media growth, plus broader “profit in all areas of life” themes like habits, brain hacks, etc.
Not great for: If you are only looking for step-by-step tactical execution, some episodes may feel more aspirational than practical.
Acquired by Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal
Why I Reach for It: This is my deep dive podcast that I listen to when I really want to learn the ins and outs of how a company was built, not just skim a case study.
Best for: Founders, entrepreneurs, and anyone who loves business history, strategy, or stories on how a company was built.
When: I want to be inspired by other founders’ success stories and glean from their strategies. I always come away with things I can implement into my own company and how I think. Great for long flights, long walks, or deep focus chores since the episodes are long-form (2-4 hours).
Overall Tone & Content: Narrative-style, calm, and highly researched. The episodes are deep dives into the history, strategic decisions, and playbooks of iconic companies like Nike, Costco, Rolex, and Google. The hosts share timeless lessons about moats, capital allocation, culture, and leadership.
Not great for: If you want something quick or light this is probably not the podcast for you. It is a LOT of information, and the episodes are very long and dense. I have to really be in the mood for this type of content and usually can only listen to about 30 or 40 minutes at a time.
